Sponsoring a child
Each Emmanuel child and each boy and girl at the transition homes has a sponsor to help supply them with nutritious food, clean water, and basic medical care. Our sponsorship, however, is more than just a donation: it is a relationship. The sponsor is actually the “maren” or “paren” to that child - godparents, something that every Haitian child wants to have and something that means the world to an orphan. Whether you can go to Haiti and meet your child or not, the love between a child and their sponsor is tangible and fostered by photos, videos, cards, letters and most importantly, prayer.
Sponsorship is $55/month for the children at Emmanuel and $75/month for the boys and girls of the transition homes. This includes funds for a gift from you at Christmas and in the summer at our Birthday celebration. Our team takes cards to the Birthday party with photos of the sponsors inside, and that is a fun time to watch them open them!
Currently all of the Emmanuel and transition home children are sponsored, but all year long, new children arrive and are in need of sponsors. Please let us know of your interest, and we will notify you when you have been matched with a child who needs you.
